Biological Activity for Taxol Janelia Fluor® 526

Key information: Taxol Janelia Fluor® 526 is a fluorogenic, green-fluorescent taxol derivative for direct imaging of the microtubule cytoskeleton. Suitable for live cell imaging.

Used for: direct imaging of the microtubule cytoskeleton.

Application: confocal microscopy, Super Resolution Microscopy (SRM) including STED.

Properties and Photophysical Data: Taxol Janelia Fluor® 526 is fluorogenic: it fluoresces only once bound to microtubules, enabling hassle-free no-wash experiments. Excitation and emission maxima (λ) are 531 nm and 549 nm, respectively; quantum yield = 0.87; extinction coefficient = 118,000 M-1cm-1.
